Boyd & Ogier is an architectural modelmaking company based in Cape Town, South Africa.

Our collective knowledge of machine and manual fabrication methods are constantly being refined over years in the field.

Our small but highly skilled team are all directly involved in the planning and making process from initiation to final product.

We pride ourselves on the quality of our work, many of our local and international clients will attest to this.

Founders

Stuart Boyd (Owner and Director)

After receiving his BTech in Product Design in 1999 Stuart moved to London.

There he did a three year apprenticeship at Kandor Modelmakers.

Back in Cape Town he was appointed modelmaking workshop manager for Ahmed Janahi Architects.

This position he held for four years until starting Boyd Architectural Models in 2007.

In 2015 he became managing partner of Boyd & Ogier and took over the ownership of the business in 2023.

Suood Ogier

After receiving his BTech in Product Design in 2002, Suood worked for Modelman in Cape Town.

He held the position as workshop manager at Modelman and later at Architecture Workshop until 2006.

He then relocated to Dubai working for Modelcraft until 2008 after which he was charged with setting up and managing the company’s workshop in Riyadh until returning to Cape Town in 2015.

In 2015 he became managing partner of Boyd & Ogier. 

In 2023 he left our company to pursue opportunities in the Middle East.
